Why We Love Llanbedrog
Half term reminded us exactly why we love Llanbedrog so much.
The sun shone, the village was buzzing, and best of all, we barely used the car. From Tremfan Lodge Park, everything is right on the doorstep. Tremfan Hall is next door, Llanbedrog Beach is just down the hill, and everything else is linked by footpaths, pavements and coastal trails.
The best part? Everything we enjoyed was within easy walking distance. From exceptional food overlooking Cardigan Bay, to beach breakfasts, paddleboarding, live music and coastal walks, Llanbedrog really does have it all without needing to drive anywhere. You could almost call it sustainable living… although after the cake, ice cream and BBQs, we’ll let that one slide.
Lunch Next Door at Tremfan Hall
One of the highlights was lunch at Tremfan Hall, just a few steps from the park. It’s rare to have such high-quality food literally on your doorstep. With beautifully prepared dishes and panoramic views across Cardigan Bay, it’s the perfect place to slow down and enjoy a sunny afternoon. Sitting outside watching the ever-changing sea, it’s easy to lose track of time. The fact you can simply wander over from your lodge makes it even better, we’re very lucky to have it right next door.
BBQs, Live Music & Aqua Evenings
As the sun went down, we found ourselves heading a short stroll down the hill to Aqua Beach Bar overlooking Llanbedrog Beach. BBQs, live music and sea views make for a pretty unbeatable combination. This half term we especially enjoyed sets from Jukebox Dave and Dominic Holmes, who created the perfect soundtrack to long, relaxed evenings by the water.
It really felt like summer had arrived early.
Breakfast on Llanbedrog Beach
The warm weather meant lie-ins didn’t stand a chance. Instead, we grabbed a flask of tea, juices and a homemade breakfast and headed down to the beach hut before the day had properly begun. Sitting on Llanbedrog Beach with the sound of the waves and the morning sun shimmering on the water was one of those simple moments that stays with you. Quiet, calm, and effortlessly perfect.
The WNTRR Tractor Run
A real highlight was watching the tractors set off from nearby Crugan Farm for the WNTRR Tractor Run. It was fantastic to see the community come together for something new. The convoy winding through the local roads brought a great atmosphere and a real sense of Llanbedrog spirit.
Art, Cake & Elderflower at Plas Glyn-y-Weddw
We also spent a slower afternoon at Plas Glyn-y-Weddw exploring the Coed Coexist Exhibition 2026. The exhibition was fascinating, focusing on nature, woodland and sustainability. Afterwards came the essential part, lemon meringue pie and elderflower cordial in the café. Culture and cake is always a winning formula.
Paddleboarding into Sunset
Late high tides made Llanbedrog Beach perfect for paddleboarding in the shallow, sheltered waters. Evenings out on the bay were peaceful and unforgettable, especially as the sun dropped behind the horizon. And being able to simply walk down from the park makes it even more special.
Coastal Walk to Pwllheli
We also made the most of the coastal path from Llanbedrog to Pwllheli. It’s a stunning walk with endless sea views and fresh coastal air. Naturally, every good walk deserves a reward, so we picked up freshly baked baguettes, local meats and Welsh cheeses from Spar for lunch on the way back. Simple, fresh, and perfect after a few miles on foot.
Roll on Summer
Half term may be over, but we’re already counting down to summer. We’re especially looking forward to the reopening of the Glyn y Weddw Arms. Having a village pub within walking distance would complete the picture perfectly. From beach breakfasts and paddleboarding to live music, coastal walks, local events and art-filled afternoons, everything is right here in Llanbedrog.
No driving. No stress. Just a beautiful village, a stunning beach, and everything within walking distance. Roll on summer…we’re ready.
