When Tremfan Lodge Park in Llanbedrog closes for the winter, the park may appear peaceful, but the closed season is one of the most important times of the year. These closed weeks allow us to focus on maintaining the park, caring for the landscape, and planning ahead so everything is ready for reopening on 1st March.
Here’s a look at what happens behind the scenes at our lodge park on the Llŷn Peninsula during the closed season.
Supporting the Environment
Set within the coastal landscape of Llanbedrog, Tremfan Lodge Park benefits from fresh sea air and open surroundings, but winter weather brings its own challenges.
Throughout the closed weeks, fallen leaves are regularly cleared from paths and plots to keep areas tidy and help with drainage. Shrubs and plants are protected from frost where needed, and cutting back takes place to encourage healthy growth in spring. Hedges are shaped, borders are tidied, and green spaces are carefully managed so the park wakes up looking its best when the season begins again. Every season is a learning curve and we always refer to the RHS and local garden centres for advice.
Planting completed in the autumn will also start to come through as the weather improves, adding fresh colour and structure to the park as the new season approaches.
Ongoing Park Maintenance
With the park closed to visitors, the winter months provide the perfect opportunity to carry out essential maintenance.
Signage across Tremfan Lodge Park is inspected, repaired, and refreshed where needed to ensure everything is clear and well-presented for the new season. Paths, fencing, and shared areas are checked for any wear and tear from the previous year, allowing us to address small issues before reopening.
These details help maintain the calm, well-cared-for feel that owners and visitors expect from a quality lodge park in Llanbedrog.
Behind-the-Scenes Planning for the Season Ahead
The closed season is also a time for planning, preparation and sustainability planning. We take the opportunity to review the year just gone and look ahead to the coming season.
From organising works and deliveries to planning improvements across the park, these closed weeks allow us to take a thoughtful and measured approach. It is all about ensuring Tremfan Lodge Park continues to provide a welcoming and well-maintained base for enjoying Llanbedrog and the surrounding area.
New Season, New Opportunities
As we prepare to reopen, we also have some changes coming to the park.
This season, three lodges will be coming off Tremfan Lodge Park, and we will be introducing one brand-new lodge. As a result, two plots will become available.
This presents a rare opportunity to choose your own lodge and create a personal escape in one of the most desirable coastal villages. You can choose something modern and light or a more traditional, cosy design; the choice is yours.
