Wales is the only country in the world with a continuous waymarked path around the entire coastline and conveniently passes through Llanbedrog. From Pwllheli, the Wales Coastal path skirts Pwllheli Golf Club onto Pwllheli beach to Carreg y Defaid beach, then over a small rocky outcrop before reaching Llanbedrog beach. Walkers can stop for a welcome aperitif or dine beachside at Llanbedrog Beach Bar before re-joining the path. The path then twists and turns through the Llanbedrog Headland woodlands and up the challenging steep steps to the Tin Man who keeps a watching eye over Cardigan Bay. Enjoy the far reaching and breath-taking views before the path drops down to the west side of Llanbedrog Headland onto the Quarry Beach. The Quarry Beach blends seamlessly to the Warren beach and further into the ever-popular village of Abersoch. Details of this and more local walks can be found on the Wales Coastal Path website. There are many inland public footpaths to explore in Llanbedrog which take in much of the countryside and village providing some extraordinary views and glimpses of wildlife that can only be seen on foot. The shallow waters of Llanbedrog beach are ideal for swimming, bathing, paddle boarding, sea kayaking and sailing. Whilst there is no equipment hire in Llanbedrog (check out our Attractions and Activities section) or vehicular access to Llanbedrog beach, you will see many people carrying and wheeling water sports equipment down to the beach to make the most of the clear sparkling waters. Larger watercraft including jet skis, ribs, dinghy’s, keelboats and motorboats arrive from the neighbouring bays bringing life to the deeper waters. Keep safe in the designated swim zone, keep a check on the tides and Llanbedrog beach days can be incredibly happy days.
